Artist Bio:

KARIN RABE VANCE worked as the Properties Master at the Alley Theatre from 2004 until March of 2020. There she propped over 170 productions as well as designing the annual production of The Santaland Diaries for 8 years. Notable productions include The 3 Musketeers, Dracula - the Original Vampire Play, You Can’t Take It With You, Vanya and Sonia, and Masha and Spike, Sherlock Holmes and Adventure of the Suicide Club, November, Red, Noises Off, Peter Pan, Cyrano de Bergerac, 39 Steps, Arsenic and Old Lace, Lieutenant of Inishmore, Treasure Island, Subject to Fits, and The Pillowman. Prior to working at the Alley, she served as the Properties Master for Studio Arena Theatre in Buffalo New York, Merrimack Repertory Theatre in Lowell Massachusetts, and as the Assistant Properties Master at the Santa Fe Opera. She is an active member of both S*P*A*M (The Society of Properties Artisan Managers) and USITT (United States Institute of Theatre Technology). She has a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology from Florida State University. Within days of being laid off due to COVID, Karin opened SD Arts Co. on Etsy, turning her free mask making service into a business. Operating out of her at home sewing studio with her faithful pups by her side, she sews and embroiders all varieties of items.
