Alexis Riggs
Artist Bio:

I have always enjoyed working backstage in wardrobe AND in costume shops getting to make them! It's the best way to keep busy with the ever changing schedules of a career in theatre. I earned my first IATSE membership in 1997, in San Francisco's Local #784. I went on tour and then moved to New York City, where I got my card to IATSE Local #764. I eventually moved to Orange County, CA (IATSE Local #504) and am currently waiting to get back to my job as Wardrobe Supervisor at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. My shop lets me be creative and busy when I'm not working backstage!

Store Description:

My shop is about remaking clothing items that are still of great use from thrift shops and making them into something even better for today. Most of what I find is just out of fashion, not necessarily worn out. Wool and Cashmere can be taken care of and last a long time, if only the fashion of the garment lasted as long. This is why there seems to be plenty in second hand shops that were declared done by the previous owner. Everything is one of a kind and made according the size of the original garment.
