Louise Guinand has designed lights for almost 40 years in theatres across Canada and in the U.S. At the time of the shutdown Louise was in rehearsals for shows at Shaw and Stratford. When theatres had to close Louise began sewing masks for The Sewing Army. The last few months she has split her sewing between masks and her expanding collection of bags
Every bag is made one at a time. They bring together repurposed fabrics ranging from 50 year old dresses to table clothes and curtains. Most of the buttons come from a large assortment collected by my mother over decades. A range of bags can be found on Instagram @buttonbagsstratford.
